💌august '23, #1, nothing like home food

hello friend! i hope august is feeding you well so far :) i’ve spent more of my week cooking than anything else, which is one of the ways i pour back into my cup. pictured below: nutmeg & brownie; bistek tagalog!
if you’re not familiar with it, disregard the way all of the recipes say you should prep the onions—(maybe it’s just my thing about not liking raw onions texture ?)—but bistek tagalog tastes sooooo much better imo when the onions get all carmelised so like, if you try making it, cook the onions down well rather than throwing them on at the end as a garnish! it’s well worth the time & gives you something to stare at that’s not your phone. now, creative things:
1️⃣ store things!
right now, the only things public in my store right now are stickers & a single metal print because those are the only products i have shipping supplies for :0c in past newsletters, i shared about different products i’ve made or are hoping to make, acrylic prints being the ones i’m most excited about!
they’re a really classy way to display poetry in your home + being that i create so much visual poetry for insta, i’m hoping to get prints made for most if not all of my poems!
now that i have a full stock of mailers, in the coming weeks i’ll be doing a ✨store refresh✨ as well as a ✨patreon refresh✨ now that i have activated the merch feature active on my account there! if you’ve peeked at my patreon and saw i’d written some merch rewards, it’s because i was hoping for august to be the month i launced them, but unfortunately patreon has had some really serious billing issues recently 😬 next month, hopefully!
i was hoping to add stickers to the $10 tier and posters to the $15 tier—here’s a preview of a couple stickers i’m working on!
these are mockups, so they’re subject to change! i’ve had this idea for a cheeky writer sticker i really want for the back of my laptop for THEE longest time, and “i can shape some of tomorrow if i try” comes an editor’s letter i wrote!
2️⃣ poethings
one of them is a feature up on the poetry orchard accounts, a disability poem i wrote in blossom & maggie’s period pain workshop; the other is a spoken word piece i wrote in the animal crossing workshop!
i’ve been drawing from some really tender places lately in my writing, so i intend for august to be filled with more…wholesome? workshops? asela & i kicked that off with our K-Pop & Poetry workshop and i’ve got another wholesome one coming hopefully next sunday :D
3️⃣ streamer things!
i’ve been super inactive on twitch lately, but i haven’t forgotten about streaming! 💚 i really miss it, and my internet’s been more stable as of late. since my last stream, i’ve been busy working on some new assets for my channel like a starting soon/just chatting/ending screen, badges, emotes, and panels! here’s what my starting soon WIP looks like so far:
i’m still figuring out how i want the left side/chat side to be set up, but yeah!! :D i’m still keen on finishing stray, which i’ll be back to as soon as i’m finished with these assets!
